This year’s most hyped phone is the Nothing Phone 1 and finally, the day has come. A new mobile phone from Nothing called Nothing Phone 1 is now available in India as well as around the world.

First sales will begin on Flipkart on July 21. One thing is clear after using this phone: This phone isn’t special just because of its glyph lighting. It is an all-rounder package that can be used by a wide range of Users.

This phone actually follows the footprint of Apple’s iPhone 13 model. During testing, nothing phone’s cover fits perfectly into Apple 13 pro.

We haven’t been able to get anything new from the mobile industry for the past couple of months. But now this phone has revolutionized the market with three Tags :

  • Something New
  • Something Different
  • Something Unique

A key feature of the Nothing Phone 1 is its unique design with 900 LED lights built into the rear panel. The smartphone isn’t just about looks, though. No Phone 1 is similar to the company’s first product, ear 1, but it has more than just a cool design.

There is no doubt that the Nothing Phone 1 offers both style and performance. Though the company primarily focuses on design, it’s great to see that it doesn’t sacrifice other features.

Let’s Check out the detailed Specification on Nothing Phone 1 with a Review

Inside the rear panel, Nothing Phone 1 has 900 LED lights, which illuminate when you receive a new notification, like an email, a message, or a tweet from one of the social media apps.

It is possible to turn on and off these lights as needed. Users can also tailor notifications or response LEDs to match ringtones with 10 Glyph patterns to choose from.

To give you an example, you will be able to set five different ringtones for five different contacts using five different Glyph patterns. Thus, when you receive a call, you will immediately know who is calling.

As well as alerting you about charging status and Google Assistant conversations, these lights will also notify you when you need to turn on the screen. From the Settings menu, you can disable or enable all of these options.

The Nothing Phone 1, as you can see in the photos, looks nothing like your usual smartphone. The phone comes in two colors: black and white.

Because the sides of the Nothing Phone 1 are made of aluminum, it feels quite sturdy. Aluminum is a 100% recyclable material.

On both sides, Gorilla Glass 5 is used.

Two cameras are positioned on the smartphone’s rear panel, both with round lenses like the iPhone 12. There is a single camera hidden in the hole punch on the front.

The screen is surrounded by thin bezels. There is a uniform bezel across the entire device on Nothing phone 1, unlike other Android devices, including the chin.

Additionally, Nothing Phone 1 has a well-balanced weight. The device weighs 193.5 grams, but it does not feel heavy at all.

With its 6.55-inch OLED display, Nothing Phone 1 is sufficiently bright indoors, but not so much outdoors. There is a peak brightness of 1200 nits on the phone, but the key word here is peak. Using the phone outdoors in bright sunlight, the “peak” was not enough in the real world.

My overall opinion of the Phone 1 is that the display could have been improved. Over the last few days, I watched numerous videos on it, and I always wished the screen was brighter.

The Phone 1 is perfectly capable of displaying colors and acuity in use cases where it is not that important. You will still have fun scrolling through Instagram feeds on this phone. Playing games on it or watching HD content on it won’t make you go wow.

Nothing Phone 1 Camera

First of all, why are there only two rear cameras?

Nothing wants to focus on performance rather than just numbers. Nothing founder Carl Pei says it’s better to have two good cameras than one good and three Poor cameras.

As a whole, I found that the Phone 1 camera did a better job than average. Photos taken by the primary shooter are sharp, have good detail, and have colors that are close to what one would see in the real world.

Nothing Phone 1 Camera

My favorite thing about the cameras is that they don’t oversaturate colors. Despite that, these photos are extremely Instagram-worthy due to their fidelity and vibrancy.

Specs first: Nothing Phone (1) has a 50-megapixel camera using Sony IMX766 sensor and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with a Samsung JN1 sensor. On the front, there’s a 16-megapixel camera.

It performs quite well even with limited lighting. Glyph mode also improves image quality here. There are three options available in the camera app to improve low-light shots: flash, studio light mode, and glyph mode.

Personally, I like the glyph mode because it provides a soft light that functions more like a fill light and not a flash. Especially for close-up shots, this improves photo quality.

It looks good from an ultrawide angle as well, and the colors are accurate. Although this camera takes photos with fewer details than the main camera, the photos with this camera are still worth viewing.

As a macro camera, the ultra-wide lens is also available, but I find that the phone has difficulty focusing in this mode. With Phone 1, you are likely to end up with a lot of blurry photos when shooting in macro mode.

As for the audio, it’s great. Even the iPhone 13 Pro’s stereo speakers aren’t as loud as the Phone 1. Putting the iPhone 13 Pro side by side with the Phone 1, the iPhone did not even come close to Nothing’s sound.

It pumped out loud and meaty sound while playing YouTube songs. There was no doubt that it sounded better.

9. Os and Security

Nothing Phone 1 Os and Security

In addition to the hardware, the Phone 1 excels in the software department as well. There is a custom skin called Nothing OS on top of Android 12 on Phone 1.

This Android smartphone is easy to use and offers a stock Android experience, unlike other Android phones. This one does not contain ads or bloatware. The only apps you’ll get are Google apps and native Nothing apps.

10. Battery

BatteryLithium Polymer 4500 mAh
Charging33 Watt Fast Charger
15 Watt Wireless Charging
5-watt Reverse Charging
Nothing Phone 1 Battery

Surprisingly, the Nothing Phone 1’s battery life is good. The LED lights initially appeared to compromise the battery life somewhat, but this is not the case.

From a 4500mAh battery unit, I find that the Phone (1) consistently lasts over a day for my use.

Unfortunately, there is no charger included in the box. The 45W charger is available separately on Flipkart for Rs 2499. This charger costs an additional Rs 2500 if you do not already have a charger with Type C support.

In comparison to some phones in this price range, the Nothing Phone 1 supports 33W fast charging, which is somewhat disappointing.

This phone is more secure for long-term use because it includes 4 years of security updates and 3 years of Android updates.
